The best carnatic song is "Aanandhamrutha Varshini, Amrutha Varshini" (Bombay Jayashree's rendition is just mellifluous).
My other favorites are:
- "Thaamarai Malar Thaaye" by Yesudas
- "Eesaa Un Paadham" by Yesudas
- "Aadi Varuvaai Guhane" by Yesudas
Great music is that which penetrates the ear with facility and leaves the memory with difficulty. Magical music never leaves the memory. - Sir Thomas Beecham

Delightful collection..
I mixed the two songs "ding dong kovil mani....." and "thoongatha vizhiga rendu..." and i sung. No difference between these two.
We are expecting more and more collections of raagas in your blog...
Ehh, in dat thoongatha vizhiga rendu song, a rare 'dha' can be observed.

Hi. excellent blog. thanks for sharing the info. I am trying to teach myself how to identify raagams etc and it has been most helpful
Hi Rammesh,
I enjoyed reading all your posts. It's sad you had discontinued writing it after 8 ragas. Hope someday u'll read my comment :)
Just for ur info, I feel "Ding Dong Kovil Mani" is not exactly Amritavarshini. It is Rasikapriya the last (72nd) Melakartha raga. The song as I observe has 'ga' and 'dha' notes as well.
Thanks,
Dhivya
